PERSONALITY AND PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS

Tall, attractive and slim, former beauty queen Corky is a southern gal through and through (even if she did have to lose her accent to make it in journalism) Corky is an eternal optimist, determined to make the best of what life has given her, she is up-beat and enthusiastic almost to a fault she can irritate those around her with her endless perkiness. Whilst not particularly academically gifted she is far more intelligent and quick-witted than her colleagues give her credit for and determined to succeed in her journalism career. She is slowly but surely developing killer journalistic instincts and with the failure of her marriage to Will Forrest she is beginning to realize that her life may not be the fairytale her mama promised her (but everything will still work out just fine in the end.)

HISTORY

Corky Lynne Sherwood was born to a large, rich and southern family in the fall of 1963 the middle of Edward and Bootsie Sherwood's three girls. She grew-up living a life of privilege, always popular at school where her primary interest was cheerleading. She eventually went on to enter the Miss America pageant initially coming in first runner up but being declared the winner by default after the first place getter was embroiled in a scandal. Following her time as Miss America she was hired by Miles Silverburg to join the on-air talent at FYI following feature reporter Murphy Brown's admission to rehab. Initially a temporary gig she proved so popular that she was hired permanently much to Murphy's chagrin. With no journalistic experience she was seen by the others at FYI as a lightweight however over the last five years she has proven her worth to both the show and to her colleagues. In 1990 Corky reconnected with a high school classmate, Will Forrest and after a whirlwind romance married him, the marriage last three years before falling apart mainly due to the pressures of time and distance.
